Lichen on an Ash Tree

I walk past this tree every day and don't look closely. There are at least two different types of lichen here. According to the very useful (and free) "inaturalist" app one is the whitewash fungus.

I am hearing great spotted woodpeckers drumming in the mornings this week. I reckon this is them reclaiming their territories before the breeding season. Camera traps (baited with dog biscuits!) have produced a fox and a tawny owl.

5 Whooper swans flew over this morning.
Earlier in the week I did one of my regular visits to Tarn Sike reserve and recoded little egret and a flock of around 50 widgeon.
A glorious sunrise this morning - the colours really were like this!
