Willow Warbler
I have been seeing willow warblers around for a week or two and thought it was time for their spot in the limelight. These delicate summer migrants are very easy to confuse with Chiff Chaff. This link to a BTO video clears up the differences better than I can. Willow Warbler
The willow warbler is one of the most common birds in N Europe but is so non descript that most people don't notice it. These birds are found deep in vegetation and flit around in branches often high up in places that are difficult to see. These birds overwinter in tropical Africa and the chaff chaff usually arrive here a week or two before the willow warbler.
Diary
The weather seems to be stuck in a rut. We are experiencing one Atlantic depression after another with rain and winds - something to do with the Jet Stream I think. Stayed inside and forgot about camera traps!
