A Stoat Kill

I've been away for a day and haven't done my usual observations, but whilst having breakfast yesterday I caught a hint of movement out of the corner of my eye and spotted a stoat trying to lift a dead rabbit over a wall.

Her way was blocked by a gate and she eventually abandoned her kill. Inspection of the carcass showed two puncture wounds in the back of the neck so it was obviously a kill rather than a body she found. Presumably the stoat is feeding young in a den on the other side of the small lane we live on.
Its' stopped raining!
