Forget-me-nots
We have had these flowers in bloom for a couple of weeks now. There is an impressive display along the banks of our stream (or "sike" as it is called in this part of the world).
These flowers are in three genus Myosotis which apparently comes from the Greek meaning "mouse ear"which the foliage is meant to resemble (I don't see it!). The flowers have all sorters of folklore associated with them and at one time were used as a symbol by the Masons!
Diary
It was down to minus 5C overnight but the snow on the hills has melted this morning. We were delighted to get a glimpse of a young stoat in the garden at breakfast time- we have seen them far less this year than last year. The male kestrel has been around a bit today too. Cameras last night revealed roe deer (a pair) badger, red squirrel and the usual dose of rabbits.
